Meet the Artist

My name is Laine, Alien is an anagram and also the name of one my cats. Alien and Chen are my muses and very best friends. I’m a cat person if you couldn’t tell!

I have been collaging for a year and have fallen in love with the medium. I am a natural born collector and intuitive creative.

I am a proud queer person and enjoy exploring this topic within my practice.

I am learning everything from scratch as I go, putting myself out there and hope to build something truly sustainable.

I create a variety of handmade collages including themes such as gardens, space, love, cats and self expression. I feel at home with myself when creating surreal and abstract collages.

Most materials are thrifted from local op shops and sales. Prints are scanned, printed and cut at home with care.

I have also been exploring mediums such as acrylic paints, oil pastels, coloured markers and pencils to create unique cats.

I deeply value sustainability. All orders are packed conciously in eco-friendly packaging.

I have plans to further reduce my waste by making my own paper and exploring mediums such as Paper Mache to use excess scrap paper.
